3.8.9 ip rip authentication
This command sets the RIP Version 2 Authentication Type and Key for the specified
interface. The value of <
type> is either none, simple, or encrypt. The value for
authentication key [
key] must be 16 bytes or less. The [key] is composed of standard
displayable, non-control keystrokes from a Standard 101/102-key keyboard. If the
value of <
type> is encrypt, a keyid in the range of 0 and 255 must be specified.
Unauthenticated interfaces do not need an authentication key or authentication key ID.
Default none

3.8.9.1 no ip rip authentication
This command sets the default RIP Version 2 Authentication Type for an interface.

3.8.10 ip rip receive version
This command configures the interface to allow RIP control packets of the specified
version(s) to be received.
The value for <
mode> is one of: rip1 to receive only RIP version 1 formatted packets,
rip2 for RIP version 2, both to receive packets from either format, or none to not
allow any RIP control packets to be received.

This command configures the interface to allow RIP control packets of the default
version(s) to be received.

3.8.11 ip rip send version
This command configures the interface to allow RIP control packets of the specified
version to be sent.
The value for <
mode> is one of: rip1 to broadcast RIP version 1 formatted packets,
rip1c (RIP version 1 compatibility mode) which sends RIP version 2 formatted
packets via broadcast,
rip2 for sending RIP version 2 using multicast, or none to not
allow any RIP control packets to be sent.
Default rip2
